Thank you for joining us at the opening reception of “Inconspicuous: Yichia Liao’s perspective from 1978-1990. We were also glad to collaborate with our local street vendor “小鵲sing” for their famous wheel pies. The decision was to reflect the works by providing everyone with traditional Taiwanese delicacies. We are grateful for all of you who participated and hope you had a wonderful time!

This exhibition marks an important step in Liao’s artistic career because it was conceived through a systematic arrangement of his earlier works. For the first time, his analog photography period is revisited and reinterpreted. It sheds light on the artist’s raw talent since his young age and presents an intriguing art style and character. Moreover, for the first time, his moving image work is shown to the public, a rare piece shot with an 8mm film of Hsinchu from 1978-1986. The exhibition is on until 8/25.
